What Makes It Different

War of Islands isn't a remix. It's a category-of-one — built around mechanics that turn the world itself into the gameplay.

01 — Geography

Permanent unique coordinates.

Your home island lives at a unique slot in a shared sky-ocean — yours forever. Pay to relocate. Real estate becomes part of identity. "Meet me at 47.3, -22.1."

02 — Cartography

Fog-of-war world map.

Your map is uniquely yours, drawn by every flight you've taken. After 50 hours, your map looks nothing like a stranger's. Information becomes the most valuable resource.

03 — Combat

Geographic, not menu-driven.

PvP happens because of where you fly. The map shape is the matchmaking algorithm. Choose your battles. Or don't.

04 — Time

Real flight as gameplay.

Distances mean something. Heavy cargo + long routes = real choices. No instant queues. The game rewards patience and punishes hubris.

When does War of Islands launch?
Closed alpha begins late 2026. Public early access targeted for Q4 2026 on Steam and PlayStation 5. Full release follows in stages — quarterly seasons after launch.
Is it free-to-play or paid?
F2P with cosmetic monetization at full launch. No pay-to-win. Founder tiers above are early-bird purchases that include the base game plus exclusive content.
Will my home island be raided while I'm offline?
No. Player islands are invisible/protected when offline. Raids only occur when you're actively playing.
What platforms?
PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5 at launch (Q4 2026). Console expansion to Xbox in Year 2.
Will it support solo play?
Yes. The game is designed to be enjoyable solo, in a duo, or in a four-player crew. Squad-only content exists but isn't the only way to play.
